Ilyana is a beautiful brown mackerel torbie siberian that came into our breeding program with the intention of being a show and breeder cat. However as much as a love as she is, she has some faults that can not be overcome within the goals of our breeding program. Ilyana will be spayed soon and we and she will make a fabulous pet for a family. Ilyana is looking for a home where maybe she will have another feline friend to play with. She also loves older children and likes to sleep in the bed. She is very playful, but also very snuggly and loving, and loves to be pet at any time of the day. Sometimes she gets sillies in her head and uses the house as a racetrack, but soon enough she calms down and will come lay on your lap for a long nap. Ilyana also "watches tv" and prefers the golf channel. She often looks behind the tv to see where the ball went. Getting a Mystic Melody Siberian Kitten...
Siberian kittens are extremely cute, there's no question about it! If you are looking for a Mystic Melody Siberian kitten, please read the information below and read up on how other kittens buyers have experienced the Mystic Melody road to Siberian servant!
Donation... For every kitten born in Cattery Mystic Melody we donate $25.00 to Siberian Research Funding. It is incredibly important that this research continues to develop a DNA test to detect HCM in siberian cats. Once a DNA test is available we can detect these problems very early on which is going to help us maintain and improve the health of our cats and breeding lines.
Kitten prices... Pet quality kittens are $850 for males and $900 for females. This includes spaying/neutering which is more expensive for females than for males hence the difference in price. Show quality kitten prices depend on color and confirmation of the kitten and range from $1000 - $1200. We give a $200 discount if you purchase a 2nd or 3rd kitten from us. Our cattery does not sell breeder kittens. Please keep in mind that kittens that are sold as pets, will have on their registration paperwork that they are 'not for show'.
Title refund... If you get a show alter from us, we refund $100 per title earned in shows! If your cat becomes a premier or champion alter we refund $100 for that first title. If your cat goes on earning more titles, you will get a $100 refund per title earned. Please email us if you want more information about how to enter the world of cat shows.
Wait list... The first step in purchasing a Mystic Melody Siberian kitten is to join our wait list by emailing us. Being on our wait list enables us to place a kitten early on and allows us to get to know the future families so we can determine the best fit. Getting a kitten is not like getting take out food. This is a commitment for many years, and pre-screening is just a step for us to get to know you. After you express your desire to be on our wait list, we will send you a kitten match form with a couple of questions that we ask you to answer. These answers allow us to get to know you and your living environment and will enable us to match you with the right kitten for you. Once we have received your reply, we proceed to the next step.
Wait list fee... We require a $50 non-refundable wait list fee. This fee will be applied towards the purchase of your kitten and ensures us that you are committed to getting a kitten from us. It also helps us to plan our breedings. We accept checks, money orders or PayPal (add 5% PayPal fee). Once we receive your fee, you will be placed on our wait list. We understand that the kitten you want might not be in the first litter you are presented. In that case you can roll onto the next litter. We will do this for up to 5 litters after that you will go to the bottom of the list.
Picking your kitten... When our kittens are born, they are not being made available to our waiting list right away. We wait about 3-4 weeks so we can evaluate the quality, gender, health and development of the kittens. As the breeder I retain the right of first choice in all litters, which means I can select a kitten to keep in our own breeding program. After that I will present the kittens to our show/breeding homes. I have very specific criteria for those that adopt a kitten for breeding and I limit the number of kittens I place in these homes. The remaining kittens will be presented to our waiting list. Not all kittens will be show/breeding quality. The kittens that are pet quality will be presented to the waiting list right away. Pet quality doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the kitten, it just means they don't meet the highest breed standard.
Reserving your kitten... Now that you have picked your kitten, we move on to the next step of actually adopting your kitten. To reserve your kitten we require 50% of the balance due, including transportation costs, before the kitten is 12 weeks old. The remaining balance is due prior to pick-up or shipment of your kitten. No kitten can be reserved without the 50% of the balance due being paid. We have too many people inquiring about kittens asking us to keep one "on hold" and then we never heard from them again, so to reserve your kitten, half the balance must be paid. We handle our wait list on a first come first serve basis.
Keep in mind, if you change your mind you will forfeit the 50% deposit as it is NON-REFUNDABLE. However if we at Mystic Melody determine the kitten of your choice turns out to not be the best fit for you, we will fully refund the 50% deposit.
What do I get...?
When your kitten is ready to go home with you, you will also receive the following:
* Vet check and health certificate prior to pickup/shipping
* Age appropriate vaccinations at time of pickup/shipping
* A Kitten Care Package with food samples, information, coupons and toys for your kitten.
* Pedigree with pictures
* Registration with CFA or TICA
* A 3 year health guarantee against genetic diseases.
* Life long guidance and feedback.
Shipping... Personal pick up is highly preferred for kittens and we are willing to deliver to you or meet you within a 3 hour driving range of our cattery at no additional costs. However for long distances this can be a very long drive and with that, just as stressful on your kittens as flying. We only ship within the USA and Canada at the moment. Shipping by air is added to the cost of the kitten. We use Continental Airlines as they have the best pet air cargo business out there. The price for shipping a kitten is a $300 flat rate which includes the trip itself, health certificate, vaccinations and carrier required for shipping.
Stay in touch...! Because we have the best interest of our kittens at heart, we are continuously involved with our potential adoptive families throughout the entire process. We are dedicated to keeping you updated on your kitten's progress, and will make sure you can watch your kitten grow and get to know their personalities. You will not be forgotten between deposit, final payment and pick up! During this process it is when we get to know our adoptive families best, and it helps ensure us that our kittens go to the right loving families.
Saying goodbye to our beloved kittens is always hard, especially for our children. We love staying in touch with our adoptive families and watch the kittens grow into wonderful adults and companions. We enjoy getting emails, letters and pictures and will place them on our website with your permission. That way future adoptive families can also see how Mystic Melody kittens grow up into wonderful and endearing personalities, and we get to enjoy seeing the wonderful results of our labor of love.
